Gattu is a charming and entertaining film for slightly older children, as it is shown with subtitles, which follows a young orphan in an Indian village where kite running is the favorite sport of both children and adults. Nine year old Gattu also loves to play with his kite, even though he really should help his uncle make money. The mysterious black kite “Kali”, which seems impossible to defeat, gives Gattu a challenge that puts his creativity to a test. To have a chance of winning Gattu must get to the top of the school building, which is the highest in the village, but to succeed with that he must first sneak in and pass of as a pupil – a difficult task when you can’t read or write. After the film we offer an affordable Indian themed lunch!!
